In Response To: Re-using Carpet (Andy)

Andy: first of all I don't know why anybody would want to replace purple wood trim. Just kidding! To replace the carpert all you need to do is rent a rug stretcher from any rent a center or carpert store. After replacing your trim just leave a 1/8 -1/4" gap between the floor and your trim. Stretch your carpert back over the tack strip and tuck back under the baseboard with a putty knife. Very simple and the rental fee is cheap. Save the carpet.
