Can Wiring

I'm wiring recessed lights in the basement and I'm using a light that says supply wire must be compatable up to 60deg. C temp., that's 140 deg. Farenheit. I'm using 12/2 W Ground Romex and neither the package nor the wiring says a thing about temp. I wonder if I have to go with Bx wire. There's no insulation in the space. I'm using 9 fixtures, 50 watts ea.

Other house wiring runs near one of the cans, what is the recommended min. distance? Thanks. Steve
