A Handyman Helping Hand

reroofing materials

I live in South Florida, land of hot sun and occasional 100+ mph winds. My 19 year old flat concrete tile roof needs replacement within the next year or so. Barrel style roofs are very popular in my neighborhood and a real estate agent said that to preserve my homes value I have to go with the flow. How do these roofs stand up to severe as well as to the ordinary elements? What should I expect to pay for an installed roof of approx. 2500 sq. ft. plus a 14'X28' flat patio roof? Lastly, please advise regarding the benefits / drawbacks of concrete vs clay barrel tile. Thanks, Steve Landers
