Your gut feeling is probably wrong.

If your vanity is operating properly this indicates there is no problem with the roof vent.

You likey have a hair clog in the drain.

Try remove the mechanical drain stopper from the overflow.

The overflow is located on the lever you raise/lower to allow water to fill/drain from your bath tub.

Remove the 2 screws that hold the overflow plate cover in place, then pull the overflow cover up along with the drain stopper....Clean all the hair and gunk from the drain stopper, reinsert and then you should be fine...
