In Response To: plumb line (Anne & Alexa)

A 'plumb line' or 'plumb bob' is usually a pointed metal object suspended on a string that one can use to establish 'plumb' or a 90deg angle (perpendicular) point to the earth.

Wallpaper kits supply a plumb line so you can establish a true vertical line as a starting point.

Plumb lines are not very accurate.

You can achieve a more accurate plumb line using a 4 or 6 foot level.
