In Response To: cleaning a dryer vent (Beth)

Well the first thing you want to do is disconnect the vent from the dryer and the area that it goes out of the house. This is pretty easy to do . You may need a screwdriver to loose the clamp around the dryer connection but once you see how it is on there you will be suprised on how easy it is to remove. then take it outside and reach in there and get as much lint out as you can. you can also hose them out with the water hose then try to dry it out as much as possible. Then replace the hose back on the dryer and the place where it was on the house.. all done P.S. sometimes the connection going to the house just slips in there and is not clamped down. make sure when you tighten it back up you only get it snug and not extreamly tight as this may crease your connection
