In Response To: cordless drills (Amy)

Amy,

I am particularly fond of the Makita brand. I have been using the same one for over 15 years now with the original battery pack and still run for it when I have a project. Skill also has a nice line. Don't go for cheap though. Look for a model that features an adjustable clutch, 2 speeds for screwing and drilling, and a fast charge pack. I don't mind waiting 10 minutes for a battery in the middle of a project when I only have one battery pack, but an hour is way too long. You will be spending in the range of $100 to $200 depending on how heavy duty you want, but stay away from the $25 version screw guns unless that is all you will be using it for.
