In Response To: Bats (Joe Sites)

You can make a one-way valve that allows the bats to exit, but not return. A simple way to do that is to use a piece of screen. Place the screen over the opening (where the bats enter and exit). Attach the screen on three sides, keeping the bottom free. This allows the bats to crawl out, pushing the screen to get out. If you leave the screen long enough, they will not be able to get back in. Once you are sure all the bats have left, then you can permanently close the opening.
