In Response To: painting over varnish (Cathy Bennett)

Hi Cathy,

I would clean with a commercial paint prep product such as liquid sand paper (really beats scuffing louvers with sand paper or steel wool), to remove any oily residues then apply a water based primer such as Kilz H2O, then paint with latex enamel. Luck!
