In Response To: Fuse Box Replacement (Joyce Ward)

My first piece of advice would be to get another electrician. Buy lots of fuses is not a good answer. I've been a volunteer firefighter for over 20 years and I can tell you from experience that most fires are caused by faulty wiring. I fix most things around the house but I don't fool around with electricity. A fuse is like a safety valve. If a circuit is overloaded the fuse blows or the circuit breaker trips to prevent electrocution or fire. If you have a continuing problem get a different electrician to advise you. If he says rewire the house I would take him serious. Tony
