lally column cutting?

Posted By: George

I have a 150 year old colonial and am replacing the old oak beams in the basement with new concrete filled steel lally columns. The basement is only 6 1/2 feet high and I need to cut the lally columns to fit.

I've asked numerous folks in hardware stores and at Home Depot, but no one is able to give me an answer. Is a cut-off saw what I need? Is there such a thing as a lally column cutter? If so, where do I get one?

Thanks, George
