In Response To: Refinishing (Joe Correll)

I've refinished a few old pieces and I've found that Kutzit paint stripper works quite well. Just be sure to wear eye protection and forget what the label says about washing it off with water. Wipe it on always working in one direction and wipe it offf a layer at a time if you have to until you get to the bare wood. Don't worry about leaving some of the old color on the piece. After you have all of the old paint and finish off I like to use tung oil varnish wiped on with a piece of old tee shirt. Two or three wiped on coats and you'll have a beautiful piece.
