Porch Post Replacement

Looking for recommendations. I have a porch with three 4x4 posts supporting it, about 7 feet tall. It is attached to the house and roofing is as well. Was originally placed on cement patio pavers 3'x3'. Due to wet winter and ground saturation (i think) the pavers have sunk, where the posts are attached to them. Want to remove these pavers, sink some piers and then deck over the whole thing. Contractor friend said don't worry about it, the house shows no signs of stress where porch is attached, and that the pavers have probably settled anyway.

So question, should I feel comfortable dropping a deck over the whole thing? If I wanted to replace the posts, and tear out the pavers during the course of a landscaping project, what would you recommend for supporting the porch?

Thanks
