In Response To: Laminate flooring (Ken Boyd)

I just came across your message and notice its been up there for a while but just in case your still wondering I'd consider a couple of things. First it depends if the floor is over concrete or wood. If its over concrete and the area is below grade or prone to moisture often times a low grade linoleum is used as a moisture barrier. All though the pergo type floors are durable on top the base materials on the bottom of the ones I've seen are some type of pressed wood which is usually prone to water damage. On the other hand if it is over wood and a good adhesive is used with full coverage I wouldn't worry about water damage in the product itself. I hope it works out o.k. for you either way. Joe
