Polyurathane Use Tips Needed

Posted By: Jean

We recently had the kitchen in our lake cottage remodeled. The new cabinets make the old walls and woodwork look pretty awful So, I have been sanding and re-staining the window sills and the worst spots on the walls, door frames, etc. The window sills especially have lost all their finish and have been subject to moisture over the years. Now I have to complete the job with polyurathane. We have been having lots of cool, drizzly and sometimes very rainy weather and the forecast doesn't look much better. Do I need to wait until we have a spell of dry weather before I do the polyurathane? Also, what advice do you have for using the poly...? Did I mention that we have brand new carpeting in the areas where I have to apply the polyurathane? I'm nervous! But I must get this done - and soon.

Thanks for any advice!
