Plastic paints up just fine. Sad that they didn't do a better job at the factory. You do need to make sure any loose paint is off and you might try a fine sanding of the areas to be painted to assure good stick. Make sure it's dry (humidity levels are low) and the temperature of the surface is between 50 and 80 degrees F.
