Mike, If this is a auto defrost refrigerator, you could have a burned out defrost heater or a falty defrost timer. This is most often, first noticed by the freezer being kinda cold and the refrigerator being warm. If this is the cause, you could unplug it, and thaw it out with a blow dryer, and then plug it back in and see if it seem to be working. This will tell you if the refrigeration is working, It will still need to be repaired, and if this works, it will only cool until the ice forms again. Do NOT use any kind of sharp tools to get ice off, as that could cause a refrigerant leak which could be costly, and just add to your delema.
