A Handyman Helping Hand

I have vinyl & alum. replacement window's with the twisted metal spring? inplace of the sash cord and weight . these are also the style that allows for tilting out for cleaning . The problem I'm having is that most of them do not stay open on there own anymore. is there anyway that they can be adjusted so they stay open without propping them up ??? thanks for your help.
