Electricians, plumbers and A/C & cooling system technicians charge a fix fee of about $50 for a service call and an hourly rate of $40 - $59 per hour. On top of that, they charge for any materials used. The volunteers at my church charges $30 per hour to fix things up around the senior citizen's houses. Carpenters and painters charge by the job, but some of them advertise their labor for $25 per hour. Your girlfriend is wrong in wanting to charge $100 per hour. A rule of thumb is to figure how much you will earn if you were working at your current job, then charge that amount.
