A Handyman Helping Hand

When putting together our metal storage building (Arrow), my husband inadvertently left off the middle strip that covers the middle of the roof. It is supposed to be added on as you put each roof panel on. But now all the roof panels are on, and we can't figure out what we can do now that we've messed up.
The building is 10 x 12 and we've figured out that it's going to be close to impossible to get the middle piece on. The building is probably about 6 feet tall.
As a temporary fix, we have used waterproof tape to secure a tarp over the roof to keep water out.
Any suggestions on a permanent fix to our mistake?
THANKS!
Tanya
