Average fees to charge

I've been asked to help out a friend of a friend for some repairs to an older building and I don't know what is fair to charge. I made (10) some new man hole covers with wood, wire and nails. I was even asked to customize and put new handles and hooks. Also I've been asked to repair a landing (an upstairs porch 4'x4') that is whether worn which requires me to remove existing wood top layer and support make steady replace support wood as well as top deck, paint, and weather-protect 18 steps. I estimate that It will take me about 8-10hrs to complete. She feels that $110-125 is what the job is worth. My girlfriend feels that the work is closer to $1000 plus. I guess what I'm asking is the average fee to charge per hour.
