A Handyman Helping Hand

I currently have 2" x 2" ceramic tile on my bathroom floor. I am not crazy about the color and would really prefer to have vinyl flooring in this particular bathroom. Can vinyl be glued directly to the tile? Or do I have to tear out the tile & start over? Or can I lay some type of underlayment between the tile & the vinyl?
