Hi Dan,

Sorry you had such a bad experience. Typically an hourly rate is between 30-45 depending on who you contract however, it would probably be best in the future to get a few estimates. Also you didn't mention whether or not you asked for or checked references. My Company usually charges on a job by job basis, that way the customer knows the full cost upfront and when they accept our estimate make an initial deposit to seal the deal. If additional work is required it should be discussed upfront and agreed upon. Also the required length of time should be set out or at least the customer should be given an estimated start and completion date. Our Company uses these simple guidelines and we have been in business 3 years on 100% referral basis. Feel free to contact me if you have additional questions
