In Response To: Home furnace flue temperature (Fred)

IT IS HARD FOR A HOMEOWNER TO DETERMINE THE FLUE TEMP,MOST HOMEOWNERS DO NOT HAVE A THERMOMETER TO CHECK...WHY ARE YOU CONCERNED WITH THE TEMP???????ARE THE GAS BILLS HIGH???????THERE ARE CHARTS TO DETERMINE WHAT THE FLUE GAS TEMPS SHOULD BE .......THEY ARE DIFFERENT FOR OIL AND GAS FURNACES...AND DIFFERENT FOR FORCED AIR AND HOT WATER...IT CAN BE TESTED BY A HEATING COMPANY WHO HAS EQUIPMENT TO CHECK FLUE GAS TEMP AND ANALYZE THE FLUE GASSES FOR PROPER COMBUSTION...MAKE SURE THAT THE FURNACE HAS COMBUSTION AIR COMING TO IT....THIS CAN CAUSE PROBLEMS...A VENT IN THE SIDEWALL ALLOWS IT TO DRAW AIR INTO COMBUSTION CHAMBER..I WILL TRY AND FIND SOME CHARTS....
