In Response To: gas furnace (tim)

Tim,

Go to the phone and call a professional heating and air conditioning company and/or your gas company and have the gas to the furnace turned off NOW. Then have it repaired or replaced before turning the gas back on. (get a couple of opinions before replacement...)

The symtoms described indicate you have the potential for an explosion and the problem should be attended to by someone that understands gas fuel heating equipment.

It could be nothing at all and run like that for years. It could blow your house off the foundation the next time it starts. Why take chances :)
