Phil Thanks so much for your offer of help. I'm sorry I didn't explain my problem better and threw you off. I don't have wallpaper on my walls; it's 4 ft. wide sheets of paneling with a simulated woodgrain finish. The finish is thin, paper-like but doesn't come off. There's grooves in the paneling to make it look like real wood strips. I don't know how to prepare the paneling to get it ready to paint. Thanks again for your help!
