In Response To: painting over "simulated woodgrain" paneling (Susie)

There are various tools you can purchase to remove wall paper covering. They use blades and they come in various width. You can buy them from a paint store or the paint department of a hardware store. Be careful. The blades are real sharp. You can also use a wide-blade putty knife to scrape off the paper. If the wall coverage is vinyl, you can peel them off easily by loosening and lifting one corner. If it is paper, try wetting them first before using the tools described above to scrape them off. Have you considered painting over the wallpaper?
