In Response To: replacement windows (k)

I am currently replacing my own windows and I am a carpenter in the St.Louis area. You should inspect your window frames for an termite or water damage. If your frames are in bad shape then you should replace the whole window. If they are in good shape then you can get by with useing replacement windows that fit inside the existing frame(much faster and cheaper). If you have old wood windows and have a contractor install the insert replacement windows, make sure the contractor removes the window weights and fills the cavity with isulation. Good luck.
