In Response To: Recessed Carpet (Craig)

See if you can obtain a piece of similar carpet for free from a carpet store and replace the frayed section yourself. You will need a roll of carpet tape to keep the main section with the new piece together. You use the tape on the joins underneath the carpet. Cut out an area about 36 inches by 48 inches from the main carpet near the door. Use a carpet knife if you can afford one, or use a Stanley knife. You can also use carpet scissors. Remove and replace it with the new piece.
