No, it is not too late to return a fawcett. If the hardware store you bought it from gives you trouble, call the manufacturer. Go over the installation manual once again and check and recheck that you have performed the installation correctly. Perhaps you have missed a washer somewhere in the installation process. I have installed three new bathroom and kitchen fawcetts during the last two years, and I have not had any of them leak.
