Concrete Floor

I removed the carpet from my den floor tonite in preparation for parquet flooring. To my surprise, there is a crack the entire length of the room (16'). I am going to fill the crack the best I can but I want to know if it might be better to glue some plywood to the concrete to put the parquet on and if so, what kind of plywood and what kind of glue. I don't know if this crack in my concrete is a common problem with floors or not. This floor is about 50 yrs. old. I have just finished putting parquet on an adjoining floor that had no crack in it. At any rate, the only thing that I can do now is try to fill it and hope it don't crack in another place.

Thanks,

Mickey
