In Response To: Painting kitchen cabinets (BJ)

I do not recommend painting over formica. Instead, have the doors resurfaced with new laminate. This costs a fraction of what it will cost to buy new kitchen cabinets. In fact, this is an easy project that you can do yourself. The dificult part is to peel off the old laminate. Gluing new laminate sheet is as easy as ABC. Just messy! If you don't want to mess with gooey glue, look in the yellow pages for cabinet refinishing and refacing in the kitchen section. Hope this helps.
