Jane ----- I would suggest you visit the following site to read a report published by the DOE (Department of Energy) about the payback time when using spun bonded olefin house wrap.

The report gives a minimum payback time of 0.5 years in Minneapolis and a maximum of 2.2 years in Atlanta.

Also, house wrap is something you can install, assuming you are somewhat handy. Good luck, Roger
