In Response To: new home question (Jane)

Jane ---- Tyvek, and others like it, are made of spun olefin material. This product has the special capability of allowing moisture, from the heated side of the wall, to pass thru to the outside and not accumulate in the walls. It also has the capability of not allowing air to pass thru, thus acting as a wind break, ie: insulation. Most builders in the Chicago area use it and it will be very cost effective for the life of the house. Is it too late to get the builder to put some on the walls?? Good luck, Roger
