In Response To: hair plugging bathtub drain (Meg)

I don't know whether you're on a septic system or not (I am), so I try to stay away from harsh chemicals. It would take one to dissolve hair I believe. So every so often I take the perforated drain cover off and clean out the hair. One of the home shows on t.v. recently had a plumber guy advising the use of a small grabber tool for recovering small object in tight places. I thought it was a good idea. I'm sure you can find one of these little "claw-like" devices in the tool dept. of any hardware store. I know it's a distasteful job, but I intend to buy myself one of these tools to make the job easier.
