In Response To: lightning (Lois Carlton)

Lightning is the result of static electricity in the atmosphere looking to find ground. Anything that will allow easy access to ground will be hit by lightning. Tall trees, metal buildings with nothing around them, etc., will make it easier to get to ground. If lightning does NOT hit you home now, I would not get a lightning rod. Why attract the lightning that's not hitting it in the first place. If you are suffering lightning hits, then by installing a lightning rod, you can control the path the lightning takes to ground thus not causing damage. Hopefully, I haven't totally confused you with this post and it's been of some help.
