In Response To: Light Bulbs keep burning out (jeff)

The kitchen light is probably the most used light in the house. Heat is the bane of all electrical devices. If the globe on the light fixture is small, it retains the heat and causes early failure. You may have to change them. Another thing to check is the wiring connections. Make sure they are all tight. I have replaced standard switches with dimmer type switches in certain busy locations. This has the result of allowing the lights to come on gradually rather than have that in-rush of electricity when they are first turned on. I'm sure you've noticed that bulbs tend to blow when turned on vs. when turned off. You might also try a heavy duty light bulb, such as one for garage door openers. I don't use them, but it might be worth a try.
