A Handyman Helping Hand

vinyl floor

I want to have vinyl kitchen flooring installed. The old floor/underlayment is probably 50 yrs old. I suspect replacing the underlayment is the best solution. What do you recommend to replace in flooring this old? Also, is it possible that asbestos is in this old vinyl, and needs special treatment? Thanks? Mike
