I would not use plastic tubing for this application. Rather, get one of the new metal jacketed flex hoses as used for clothes washers. My brother went on vacation for a week, only to return to a flooded house due to a split hose to his ice maker. It was a considerable amount of money to repair the damage. I have subsequently installed jacketed hoses on refrigerator and washer. These hoses are well worth the money as compared to the repair expense.
