In Response To: Roof (Sandra Coe)

It is highly unlikely that you have any type of roof problem despite what the previous poster stated.

This is most often caused by too high humidity inside your home and lack of proper ventilation in the attic.

It is especially common if you are using a humidifier on a forced air furnace, or are using a vented or non vented gas heater, gas fireplace, or kerosene heater for heat. It can also occur if you have water problems in you crawl or basement.

The added humidty condenses on the cold nails. You see the results.

Reduce house humidty and the problem should vanish.
