A Handyman Helping Hand

loose flooring

my problem is this:. my flooring does not seem to be nailed down properly, i looked at the flooring from underneath the house and it seems that the builders missed the joists with their nailing of the floor in some places. this is causing the floors to creak and warp up in some areas. i have read about some screws that you can put through the carpet and they are designed to break off below the carpet but i can't find any of them. and even if i had them, it won't help in the areas where i have vinyl. i would be thankful for any suggestions. thanks
