In Response To: Window condensation (Roxy)

I have both new and old windows in our house. The old ones do get a considerable amount of condensation and ice on them while the new ones do not. I would tend to think the humidity is a little high in the home. This is probably the main cause. If your house is 27 years old (ours is about 30) I would think it breathes enough on its own so that is not the problem. I would start by turning down the humidifier just a little at a time. A small adjustment usually makes a big difference. I have never had any significant change with leaving the shades/blinds open. I would start with the humidifier. Good luck.
