In Response To: furnace ducts banging (Randy)

This can be caused by the main plenum (large duct connected to the furnace) expanding when the airflow starts. The sheet metal may be slightly bowing out and then popping back. My ducts do this. If this is the case a HVAC contractor can install a fabric sleeve that will take the expansion instead of the sheet metal ducts. Why this started happening after this cleaning? I don't know. It may be coincidence or they may have closed a vent which is causing the pressure to be higher when the air starts to flow.
