A Handyman Helping Hand

woodstove chimney

Hello! Thanks for offering your help. My question is, is it ok to use galvanized pipe for the interior parts (one 2' section and one elbow)? I read on the web that that puts off noxious fumes, so I'm concerned - my landlady just supplied me with new parts and the exterior pieces she brought are different. The 2' straight sections are sheet metal on the outside and black on the inside. The exterior elbow is all black. Is she just trying to save money at the expense of my health? One more thing - should I use a drill or a punch to pierce the holes for the flue? I'd really appreciate an answer!
