In Response To: Cutting cast iron (John Feldman)

I had to cut a section of cast iron from my basement. I used a reciprocating saw with a metal cutting blade. I broke two of them in the process, but it eventually worked fine. My advice to you is to work slowly, let the blade do the work. The blade will get real hot, so perhaps a few dabs of cutting oil from time to time will help. Good luck with it!
