In Response To: vinyl floorboards (Wanda LeGore)

As long as the floorboards are in good shape, you can re-use them. Try using mineral spirits on a rag and see if it softens the old adhesive. Be sure to clean off the spirits before gluing on the boards. Liquid nails is often used to hold on these boards, but it will make future removal difficult.

As for the "Stink Pipe" that is the pipe that carries the gases out of the house usually through the roof (instead of through your drains). That is the reason for the "trap" under your sinks... it hold water to act as a seal so the gases don't come out of the drains.

The stink pipe may have a clog in it (Bird nest, pine needles, dead animal...etc) or your drain trap may have a small leak that lets the water out and thus, lets the gases in.

Good luck..... Rick
