Al,

I'm sure that you have checked to make sure the water didn't get turned off. That only means that the fill valve is not opening because it is stuck somehow or the fill valve is bad and needs replaced.

There isn't much that can happen there... if the float on the valve is dropping and is connected to the valve, the water should flow in (assuming the water supply is on). If not.. replace it.
