In Response To: Help! - Building new house, really wet from rain (Lynn)

Lynn ------ If the builder uses heaters/fans and replaces any decking sheets(plywood or oriented strand board ) that were damaged, you should have no problems. Be especially alert for the OSB(chip) sheets that may have come apart. Most framing lumber(2x4s, 2x6s etc.) contains about 18% moisture as they come from the factory, and will dry down to about 8% after a year or so. The rain has only increased this 18% by a small amount, even tho the lumber may feel wet to the touch. As soon as your home is closed up with windows, doors, siding etc. any mold will disappear. Good luck and enjoy your new home. Roger
