cracks in slab

i have a countersunk living room. about 6 inches lower than rest of the house. we have clay/gumbo soil that is bad about moving during periods of drought or heavy rains. live on the texas coast south of houston. during the past summer due to the drought, had to water the slab. water entered in the countersunk room from under the slab. i have corrected the problem outside by filling the void, but what can i put on the floor inside to seal the very small cracks so water can never get in through the floor again?( pouring concrete is not an option) thanks
