Electrical Cable Installation

Posted By: Cynthia Munroe

I am installing a new circuit in a very old house. I've drilled holes in the center of the studs and need to install two or three runs of cable through the holes (one for the new circuit and one to connect attic lights to the existing old circuit). Do the electrical standards permit installing more than one A/C cable through the drilled holes? If so is there a maximum number allowed? What is the minimum distance requirement if the cables must be separated? Thanks.
